PHILADELPHIA, PA – (June 15, 2011) – Accu-Sort® Systems, Inc., has introduced an AppSolver™ online wizard tool for the AccuLazr™ AL5010 laser barcode scanner. Based on the information that users enter online, the wizard tool describes the configuration needed for a particular barcode scanning application. Users can then email this information to request a fast and accurate quotation from Accu-Sort.
Unlike some other online configuration tools, AppSolver gives a complete bill of materials, including part numbers, descriptions and accessories needed. The exact model and other components are automatically determined based on the application’s requirements entered into AppSolver by the user. If a solution is not presented, perhaps due to missing or unavailable information, the user can submit their application via email for further review and analysis.
The online wizard provides intuitive instructions for entry of the following information:
- Application specs (conveyor speed, belt width and min/max package sizes)
- Barcode specs (type, min/max bar size, position on packages)
- Connectivity (Ethernet-EtherNet/IP, Serial, DeviceNet/Profibus, other I/O)
The AppSolver for AccuLazr AL5010 is especially useful when solutions for a variety of applications are required.
About the AccuLazr AL5010
The AL5010 is the first scanner in Accu-Sort’s AccuLazr line of next-generation barcode systems. The AL5010 laser barcode scanner is ideal for a wide range of applications, including pick modules, print and apply, routing and sortation systems. It is suited for use in industrial environments from distribution centers to tire manufacturing plants.
Compared to similar scanners, the AL5010 offers better scan coverage with fewer models. Five different compact AL5010 models provide scanning coverage ranging from 5 to 48 inches (depending on the bar code’s size) in both standard and high-density configurations.
The AL5010 lowers the total cost of ownership by offering a highly reliable platform and field-replaceable modules. Its MTBF (mean time between failures) rating exceeds 50,000 hours at 25˚C. In the event of failure, the scan head is hot-swappable and can be replaced in less than five minutes by non-technical workers.
An Ethernet-EtherNet/IP connection is built into the scanner; other network connections are available via an optional Basic Interface Module and an Enhanced Interface Module.
